Well Done Joe!

Joe Palmer receives an LTA Meritorious Service Award

The winners of the LTA Meritorious Service Awards 2007 were announced at the LTA's Annual General Meeting.

During the LTA’s Annual General Meeting at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton on Wednesday, the six recipients of the LTA Meritorious Service Awards 2007 were announced.

Each Award is given to a nominated honorary official who has given outstanding voluntary service to tennis in any capacity over a long period of time.

The prestigious Awards are highly regarded within the game and the 2007 winners included our own Joe Palmer.

Joe Palmer – Cheshire
In over 50 years in the game, Joe has filled almost every role for his beloved club, Heswall LTC, and county, Cheshire. The 83 year old is also a qualified referee, has been the Chairman of Wirral Executive Sports Council, and was involved for many years with the world renowned Hoylake tennis tournament.
