Can I try out the club?

Yes. There is Social Tennis on a Saturday afternoon and Wednesday evening. We are an active, friendly club that welcomes new members and their families. There is a Club Coach, Sue Davies 0151-342-6698

Is the club busy?

The club is an active one so its best to check the court schedule for any regular bookings such as Junior Social tennis (Friday evening) and Senior Team Tennis (Tuesday evening). We have 8 casalen carpet courts which provide an excellent surface for tennis throughout the year. Several courts are floodlit, . Further information about floodlights(word) .(pdf)

What about Team Tennis?

HLTC encourages both competitive and social play. The Club enters 4 teams in the mixed Wirral Summer League, 2 in the Chester Summer league, 7 in the West Cheshire Winter league, the Cheshire LTA Inter Club competitions and several national events. Heswall’s membership includes county players of all ages.

Do you encourage Juniors?

Yes. Junior Club night takes place on Fridays throughout most of the year. There is hitting practice junior/seniors plus social events in the clubhouse. We currently have 8 teams in the summer Junior Wirral League and also enter teams for county and national events. The Club is an accredited Mini-Tennis centre, runs several junior tournaments for all ages and enters the Road to Wimbledon for U 14s.

Important Wimbledon 2009

As from 2009 you MUST be a member of British Tennis in order to buy Wimbledon tickets either through the Club or elsewhere.
The Club allocation is dependent on the number of members in the club and Cheshire as a whole, so by joining British Tennis you are also helping with the club allocation.
Up to November 2008 membership is free, and you gain many other benefits: magazines, a club rating etc. To join go to:-

What about Social Activities?

Many different events occur during the year: -Quiz nights, Sunday lunches, Barbecues, Day at the Races, American Tournaments.In the summer months 2 mixed social tennis teams of 8 players compete against other Wirral clubs. Charity Events are also held with donations to charities such as the British Heart Foundation, Kidney Research and Macmillan nurses amongst others.
